Friends Student Dominate National Latin Exam
They came, they saw, they conquered it!
(May 7, 2016)
The National Latin Exam is a 40-question, multiple-choice test, covering Latin vocabulary and grammar, as well as Roman culture, mythology, and geography. The test is taken each spring by 150,000 students in all 50 states and 19 foreign countries.
For comparison, in our own state of Massachusetts, about 13,000 students took the Latin exam, and 20% earned the highest two level of awards, with silver or gold medals.
At Friends this year, we tripled that, with 60% of our 8th graders earning silver or gold medals.
Bene facto, discipuli!
